Cheers to the part of the website we all hate to write and most people skip over... I am going to do this my own way for the sake of my sanity lol (sad but really long ugly face).
I began my yoga practice in 2013 for physical reasons and quickly learned of it's mental benefits. I received my 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher certification at Kali Yuga Yoga (thanks to the encouragement of Jamal Hutchinson). Since then I've created multiple opportunities for underserved/mistreated communities with yoga in mind. Naked Soul Yoga (confidence and body positivity). Yoga For My People (true inclusion), BlackMenBend (makes black men an equal piece of the equation), and Poetry in Motion Live (combining the arts). Those things have opened doors for even more things, i.e. the first PIML birthed my event company Watkins Productions LLC that also houses Hey Sis Sunday (a collective that promotes sisterhood, yoga, and entrepreneurship).
Outside of just the physical practice of yoga, I was forced to really consider the FULL mind, body, and spirit. I became a doula through Homeland Heart Birth & Wellness Collective to not only understand the woman's body, but to address the issue of black moms and babies dying at a much higher rate.
Delving a bit deeper into the energy of (first) the human being, I began work with Jasmine Cain and
became a certified reiki practitioner. I am currently level 1 working to and through all that I am and all that I will be.
With all that I have going on, I reeeeeeeeeeally encourage you to visit this page often because I do see this portion of the site being updated often. If you're ever in Nashville, TN and wanna chat email me
